The primary goals of the Accreda project were to simplify holistic career-building processes for individuals, universities, and enterprises. Additionally, we aimed to provide a seamless and user-friendly interface for both administrators and end-users, ensuring scalability to accommodate a growing user base. Utilizing modern technologies to enhance performance and responsiveness was also a key objective.
In our collaboration with stakeholders, we set out to tackle several key objectives:
• We aimed to design and develop a state-of-the-art digital-first educational platform. This platform needed to serve both individual learners (D2L) and businesses (D2B) within the professional and higher education sectors, emphasizing skills development.
• Our goal was to create a platform that allows learners to track and showcase their continuous skill-building progress. This required the seamless integration of University-provided content with the Learning Management System (LMS) and the F.L.Y tool, ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive learning journey.
• We aimed to position the Accreda brand as a leader in the educational industry. This involved providing robust support to learners and shaping their career paths effectively.
We conducted a series of in-depth and extensive workshops and interviews with stakeholders from the business, developers and designers to identify the essence of their core business and understand their unique value proposition. This process also involved identifying the core journeys that users would undergo, presenting a unique opportunity to deliver a proprietary business offering in a distinct way.
To achieve the objectives of Accreda, we utilised tools such as SWOT Analysis, Value Proposition Canvas, and Business Model Canvas to thoroughly examine the business requirements and needs. We then aligned these insights with user needs through Empathy Maps, Journey Maps, and research data points. This comprehensive approach ensured that the platform met both business objectives and user expectations.
The technology stack employed for this project comprises Next JS and Bootstrap for the user interface, Express.js for middleware, MySQL for the database, Linux as the operating system, and cloud services for seamless hosting.
Using our research as a foundation, we began creating wireframes. Throughout the design process, we prioritized the users, ensuring their objectives and challenges were at the forefront. We started with low-fidelity wireframes and progressed to high-fidelity prototypes to visualize the user interface and gather valuable feedback.
Our emphasis was on building a website that provides users with a comprehensive learning experience and personalised learning programs. We achieved this through:

Next, we transitioned to the UI design phase, focusing on creating a clean and consistent design to ensure a seamless user experience for all users. Our visual design aimed to align with the branding elements, enhancing the using them through the website and still maintaining the appearance of a premium platform.
A strong emphasis was laid on minute details such as the typography chosen and the colour palettes to best determine harmony across all the brand touchpoints. The icons were carefully crafter to adhere with the core values of the brand.
